Spring, Summer and Autumn of Hakuba
Spring : Flowers such as Fukuju-sou, Ooyama Zakura, Giant Skunk Cabbage, Dogtooth Violet and so on all bloom at once. Dramatic snow caps can also be seen on the mountains.

Summer : There are a lot of Alpine plants in HAKUBA. Plants that grow in the Great Valley include Shiraneaoi, Kinugasasou, and so on. The valley is covered with lingering snow while also hosting beautiful alpine flowers.

Autumn : The reddening of the leaves begins at the top of the mountains and slowly descends. White snow at the top of the mountains, red trees in the middle and green flora at the bottom all at one time can be seen only in this season. This phenomenon is called "The three steps of Autumn".
